A LOCAL dementia charity, has announced its post diagnosis support programme for 2026 which includes new coffee morning socials, 10-week wellbeing programmes for carers and loved ones with early-stage dementia in Midsomer Norton.
Activities hosted by ReMind UK will also feature regular carers’ information days and monthly events held at local venues such as the Holburne Museum in Bath and a variety of community venues in and around Bath and North East Somerset.
ReMind UK says it is committed to extending its support to reach people in isolated and less connected areas of Bath & North East Somerset and will be looking to add further interventions to meet growing need. The charity is developing a range of online resources such as their Guide to Living Well with Dementia, co-produced by people with lived experience, which has been distributed to hundreds of local people and organisations and downloaded by 2,000 households for free from the charity’s website.

Melissa Hillier, CEO at Remind UK said: “We are excited to launch our 2026 programme of post diagnosis support activities for people living with early-stage dementia. Building on our evidence base of what works and is most valuable to those we work with, we are now offering more ways for people to connect and access support than ever. All of our events are designed to boost wellbeing, reduce isolation and encourage and create space for shared experiences with others in similar situations to help people live well with dementia for as long as possible.”
Patricia Dwyer, from Saltford, who is supported by ReMind UK in one of their Chat Make and Move wellbeing programmes said: “I was diagnosed with dementia about a year ago. ReMind UK’s wellbeing sessions have helped me a lot and I really look forward to them each week. The sessions are friendly, we learn a lot and I really appreciate the mental stimulation. Everyone’s really kind and helpful, we can just be ourselves and it makes me feel positive.”
