The founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher, was also invited to meet her Rock Choir family and teach them a new song!

The Rockies responded by singing their hearts out - the Rafters were lifted!

Led by Emma and Mike, our Rock Choir leaders, whom I must say, led with energy and humour. Conducting 500 people is no mean feat! Smiling and singing was the vibe of the evening and there wasn't a dry eye anywhere, when we sang "A Thousand Years".

Rock Choir member, Carol Curtis told The Journal: “I personally joined four years ago and I have enjoyed every minute! Even when we get wet and cold singing at a gig!

“Being in a choir was my New Year Resolution, and when a Scottish friend told me about being in the Glasgow Rock Choir, I thought why not! So I went online and booked a taster session in Frome.

“I was nervous, but everyone was so friendly and Emma Webb, Rock Choir leader, made it fun!

“Singing definitely helped me through Lockdown and through some darker times in my life. How can you not smile when you are singing! Although perhaps a few tears when it's a sad song.

“I would say to anyone who likes to sing, come along for a taster session and try it!”

Jo Hatt, another Rock Choir member, said: “I joined Rock Choir in Frome 2019 after seeing a Rock Choir performance in Bristol while I was Christmas shopping. It looked like so much fun!

“During Lockdown, we carried on rehearsing and learning new songs over Zoom, but it's been brilliant to be back singing in person for the last few months.

“I really look forward to our weekly rehearsals - singing is fantastic for your mental health and well being.

“Rock Choir is a great way to meet lovely people, and our leader Emma Webb, is really inspiring and motivating.

“There are opportunities for performances and trips too if you're interested in taking part in local or national events.

“My favourite songs we've learned so far are "Dreams" by the Cranberries and "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. The harmonies are beautiful.”

You can book your taster session online at the Rock Choir website. Absolutely no auditions, everyone is welcome.
