After seeing the distress and devastation caused by the war in Ukraine, the team from Specsavers at 119 High Street has decorated the store with blue and yellow balloons and asked customers for donations for specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments).

Matthew Watt, Specsavers Midsomer Norton store Director, says: ‘The situation in Ukraine is absolutely horrifying, and we wanted to do something to help those who are suffering. There are so many innocent people, including children, who have been forced to leave their families and their lives behind, so we felt very strongly about doing our bit to support them.

‘The reaction from our customers has been hugely supportive so far and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who has made a donation. It’s impossible not to have been affected by the images we’ve all seen come out of the country and we’ll continue to fundraise to help where we can.”
