Members of the Radstock and Westfield Big Local team are looking for a local organisation to help them deliver the £1million action plan by acting as a banker – holding the money allocated from the Big Local Trust. The partnership team are seeking added value from the Locally Trusted Organisation (LTO) with organisational and administrative support relating to the delivery of the Radstock and Westfield plan. The LTO will be eligible for a management fee of up to 5% of turnover a year, depending on the level of support. The partnership group, which is operating the first phase of its ten-year programme, wants to appoint a LTO on an initial twelve-month contract. Applications are invited from public, private and voluntary sector firms. The closing date for applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, 26th September. Contact Sarah Westell on: 01761 431242 or email: [email protected]">[email protected] for further information. Local heroes are also needed to help spend the money and any resident can help. If where you live matters to you, then this is a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to play a gigantic part in its future. It's a big chance for residents to have a defining and direct impact on how £1million in their area is spent – no Council or Government telling you what to do – just residents. This will build a lasting legacy for the area, for you, your family and for others. Sarah Westell said: "There are three ways to do it: Big and beautiful: Volunteer on the management team and have your say on ideas and projects while also driving schemes forward. Meetings are usually held every four to six weeks, with the aim of developing themes which can benefit children and young people, business, tourism and connecting communities. "Middling and magnificent: Volunteer on the partnership team and discuss the funding of the proposals. Responsibilities also include to remain abreast of what is happening with the Big Local, for example, the work of the Management Group. Meet 2–3 times a year. "Small and significant: Get on our mailing list, post comments on our Facebook page and tell your friends and family about it. "We especially need volunteers for the management team, as we are in a crucial stage of the process. The more people we have, the better the projects will be and the more we can get done. This will really make a difference and we need heroes to step forward." All Radstock and Westfield residents are welcome and encouraged to be involved. Radstock includes the villages of Clandown, Writhlington, Tyning and Haydon. "It would be great to welcome along people who have a real interest and passion about a theme and were willing to invest some time and enthusiasm," added Sarah Westell. "These are exciting times for the Radstock and Westfield Big Local team, as we now look to take forward projects which will make a positive and lasting difference to our areas."
