Midsomer Norton Cricket Club held their first Outfield Festival on Bank Holiday Sunday to dream festival weather. The event was brilliantly supported by local people, and sold out this year’s allocation of tickets.

The day got off to a great start with Midsomer Norton and Radstock Brass Academy entertaining the crowds, along with Michael Eavis leaning on the stage barriers having a listen after earlier speaking to the crowd and officially opening the festival. Local musician, Keith Horler, then performed a great set full of original material. Local band, Centrefolds, took to the stage as the crowds continued to stream in, followed by Derbyshire band, Patawawa. Further local bands, Verdisa and Avalon Highway followed, with the latter firing 6-foot beach balls and free T-shirts into the crowd. With the sun having set and the stage lights lighting the sky, 90s boy band, East 17, belted out the classics to the dancing crowds with a superb headline set from Toploader closing the festival.

The organisers would like to thank Midsomer Norton Scout Group for the loan of the tents and for everyone who helped to make the day a huge success. Some much-needed funds were raised to finance the new changing rooms and clubhouse renovation. Special thanks are also due to Paulton Rovers and The Joliffe Arms for their support behind the scenes during the day. The festival organisers have confirmed that Outfield Festival 2020 will be going ahead, and ticket details will soon be released on social media platforms.
