CHILDREN at Peasedown Primary School have excelled at a special award ceremony which was held last week to mark the end of another year of learning and educational achievement.

The awards are presented annually to children who have consistently shown and demonstrated the school’s values and vision throughout the previous 12 months.

Headteacher, Ruth Noall, said: “Our whole school end-of-year awards are held just before we break up for the summer holidays to congratulate and praise children for their dedication and hard work. Teachers nominate children for these awards and then there is a winner per year group for each award.”

“We’re always incredibly proud of our children at Peasedown Primary School. Their hard work and determination to learn new things, be creative, ask questions and explore new ideas is second-to-none.”

The awards presented last week recognised a range of qualities demonstrated by the children throughout the year.

The Curiosity Award was given to children who have consistently asked questions, sought connections in their learning, and pursued their interests outside of school.

The Aspiration Award honoured those who strive to do their best, learn from others, and inspire those around them.

The Resilience Award celebrated children who have bounced back from challenges and consistently worked hard to improve.

The Empathy Award recognised those who have shown a caring and considerate nature, bringing kindness and fairness to the classroom.

Finally, the Excellence Award was presented to children who have embodied the school’s vision by achieving excellence for themselves and others every day.

Ms Noall added: “Children are awarded with an engraved medal and given excellence cups as a sign of our appreciation for their work.

“Peasedown Primary School pupils have really shone this year, striving to their very best.”
