Peasedown St John now has its own Carnival Royalty, following the ennoblement of a Queen, Prince and Princess last Friday – hosted at the Beacon Hall.
Against the backdrop of a glittering stage, Ebony Troy, aged eight was appointed Peasedown St John Carnival Princess. Colby Barnes, aged seven was chosen as Peasedown St John Carnival Prince and Lola Callow, aged eleven became Peasedown St John’s Carnival Queen. The judging panel had a difficult job due to the high standard and number of entries. The three new members of Carnival Royalty will not only represent Peasedown St John on Carnival night in Midsomer Norton on Monday, 14th November, but will in the meantime, go forward to the Grand Final on Friday, 28th October at Midsomer Norton Town Hall.
The next event is this coming Friday, 30th September at Paulton Village Hall at 7 p.m. Entry to the competition to become Carnival Queen, King, Prince and Princess for Paulton for the next twelve months is free. Just come along on Friday evening to Paulton Village Hall and there will be two age entry categories, 5–9 years for Prince/Princess and 10–18 years for King/Queen. On arrival, entrants will be asked to complete a form (with a parent/guardian if under sixteen) and will be given a number to be called up and answer three questions relating to why they would make a good member of Carnival Royalty for Paulton. A panel of judges will select the four winners and at the end of the evening, these will be announced.
Next will be the Westfield heat at Westfield Sports and Social Club on Friday, 14th October at 7 p.m., which is open to anyone who lives in Westfield. Radstock follows on 21st October.
