On Saturday, 6th January, residents in Peasedown St John are being invited to take part in the next Community Clean-up.
Last summer, local councillors, Karen Walker and Sarah Bevan, launched a new monthly clean-up scheme where they invite villagers to join them on the first Saturday of the month to give a chosen street a tidy-up.
Cllr Karen Walker said: “Sarah and I both believe very strongly in community action and working with residents to help them make a difference in our village.
“Over the last few months, residents have contacted us about the excess amount of litter in and around the village and asked if we could do anything to help.”
The next clean-up will be held on Saturday, 6th January, at 11.15 a.m., in Hillside View (meeting at the top of Hillside View). Cllr Sarah Bevan added: “We’ve organised many community clean-ups over the years, and it’s always good to see residents joining in. People often feel a strong sense of pride and community spirit when they give their time up to do something for the area they live in.”
Anyone who would like to come, should bring gloves and any protective clothing they may want to wear. Litter pickers and rubbish sacks will be provided.
