The Christmas tree lights in Midsomer Norton will be switched on at a small event in the Hollies Garden on Thursday, 25th November 2021. After an uncertain eighteen months, it had been hard to plan for a ‘normal’ Christmas Fayre event, but once Father Christmas announced his intention to pass through, an event was quickly organised.
The Carnival Association have arranged for Father Christmas to arrive around 6pm, who will then be in situ to hand presents out to visiting families until around 7.30pm. There will be a stand handing out free hot chocolate and mince pies, free face painting for children and two sets of carols from Midsomer Norton & Radstock Silver Band to give you that early festive buzz. There will also be an opportunity to take part in a ‘Rubber Reindeer’ race down the High Street River before the lights are turned on by Santa and the WECA Mayor, Dan Norris, at 7pm.
Details of the event, including more specific timings, will be posted on the Midsomer Norton Town Council and Community Trust website and social media pages and in The Journal next Wednesday.
