Radstock Town Council are delighted to announce that further upgrades are planned to take place over the coming months in the popular Tom Huyton play park in Radstock.

Tom Huyton play park was first installed in 1988 and a considerable amount of the equipment is still original. Over the past few years, the Town Council have been working hard to create a phased plan supported by a funding scheme which will see the refurbishment and renewal of the park.

The project is looking to improve all areas of the park. This includes allocating future development funding for improvement to the public toilet facilities. The first phase commenced last year beginning in the inclusive play area, which saw the installation of a chair swing and the replacement of the ‘ability whirl’.

This Autumn will see major changes taking place in the centre of the park. There will be replacement of the multi-play unit and zip wire and repair work to wetpour surfacing throughout the park.

Inkeeping with the town’s heritage, a bespoke train station with carriages and ticket office will be
installed, proudly displaying the original Radstock West station name, platforms and timetable formerly used by trains running through Radstock.
