Midsomer Norton and Radstock residents took part in a ‘virtual town hall’ meeting with Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer and Metro

Mayor hopeful, Dan Norris.

Members of the public had chance to ask questions directly to the new Labour leader about the issues they would like to see raised directly with the Government.

Unsurprisingly, tackling the coronavirus pandemic and the economic fallout were hot topics. Residents also asked about cycling provision, food prices and school exams. Dan Norris, Labour’s candidate for West of England Metro Mayor said: “It was great to welcome Keir virtually today to Midsomer Norton and Radstock to meet with local people and businesses, and for us to hear first-hand about the challenges that everyone is facing due to the pandemic. It was an informative meeting.

“We heard some inspiring stories about the real sense of community during this crisis, as well as hearing heart-breaking accounts from people who had lost their livelihood.”
