Lifetime members and friends of the Positive Living Centre, in Midsomer Norton, enjoyed an evening of pampering last Thursday, during its Summer Open Evening event. Donations were also being accepted for the centre's initiative to fundraise and buy a defibrillator for the centre of the High Street, to complement the two existing defibrillators at opposite ends of the town, one at Welton Rovers' ground, West Clewes, and the other at Barons Estate Agents, opposite the Town Hall.
Due to the theft of defibrillators in Westfield and Bath, the idea is to keep the new piece of life-saving equipment, which will cost £800, within the centre, which has first aiders at receptionduring the week and on Saturdays.
The event raised £295 and anyone who would like to donate can do so by calling in to the centre, (follow the path to the right-hand side of Mallards pub), from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday – Friday, Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., and Mondays, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. For more information, contact: 01761 411043.
The Positive Living Centre will continue to find ways of raising the next £500 and hope to approach local groups, such as the Rotary, for help.
