Tesco staff and The Forever Hounds Trust, a charity which rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes unwanted, abused or abandoned Greyhounds and Lurchers, have raised a massive £1,000 with the help of local shoppers.
Colleagues set up the event last Saturday in memory of a dear friend and staff member, Jeanette Bushnell, who was involved with the charity alongside her husband, Keith. Generous customers not only gave money, but the team also received a van full of dog food!
Lisa Willingham, PFS Manager for Tesco Stores Midsomer Norton, said: “Our customers were very generous, and I would like to say a massive thank you to them all for their generosity.
“The dogs were incredibly well behaved and a big hit with customers. If anyone would like to be a volunteer with the trust or would like to adopt a dog, The Forever Hounds would love to hear from you. We hope to hold another fundraising day with them in future.”
