A rare coin found by a metal detectorist near Radstock has fetched £4,000 at auction recently.

The penny is dated between 1140 and 1153 in the style of Henry I and includes a crowned figure wearing segmented drapery with a trio of pellets. It was sold by Spink Live, the world’s leading auctioneer of stamps, coins and medals.
