Residents are invited to attend the next Somer Valley Forum meeting,on Tuesday, 19th September, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Swallow Café, St Nicholas Church Centre, Church Street, Radstock BA3 3QG.

The Forum meetings bring together local community and voluntary organisations with Parish and Town Councils and representatives from Bath and North East Somerset Council. Meetings are open to the public, and provide an opportunity to hear about

issues that matter most to the local community, ask questions and give feedback.

At the September meeting, there will be updates from the Police on local crime trends and from Quartet Community Foundation on their work and local funding opportunities. There will also be presentations on the Somer Valley Transport Strategy, Somer Valley Enterprise Zone, Affordable Housing and Homelessness.

Chair of the Forum, Lynda Robertston, said: “The Somer Valley Forum has raised the items on this meeting’s agenda as being of importance to this area. We are particularly pleased to be welcoming local charity, Swallow, to speak about their supported housing for young people with learning difficulties and Julian House, who will speak about sofa surfing among young people from the Somer Valley.”

Cllr Paul Myers (Conservative, Midsomer Norton Redfield), B&NES Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic and Community Regeneration, said: “The Connecting Communities Forum meetings taking place across the district provide a valuable link between local people and decision makers from a range of organisations, offering opportunities to share information, local knowledge and to work together to find solutions to issues.”
