Drivers in and around North Somerset will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures are due to start this week:

• M5, from 9pm August 1 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 exit slips, lane closure for barrier works.

• M5, from 9pm August 2 to 6am August 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit slip, lane closure for barrier works.

• M5, from 10pm August 3 to 4am August 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 - lane closure on roundabout for bridge works.

• M5, from 10pm August 5 to 6am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 18 to 20 lane closures for surveys.

• M5, from 9pm August 8 to 6am August 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 to 20 lane closure for barrier works.

• M5, from 9pm August 9 to 6am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 to 20 lane closure for barrier works.

• M5, from 9pm August 10 to 6am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 to 20 lane closure for barrier works.

• M5, from 9pm August 15 to 6am August 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 20 to junction 21 Lane closures for Structural maintenance, diversion for, junction 20 southbound, entry Slip and junction 20 northbound, exit Slip - M5 northbound to junction 19 and return, diversion for, junction 20 southbound, exit Slip - M5 southbound to junction 21 and return.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
