Rose Cottage, Smithams Hill, East Harptree, BS40 6BY opens on Sunday, 9th April from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Also open for private group visits, by arrangement, for the month of April.
This is a one-acre hillside cottage garden set upon the Mendips, with panoramic views over Chew Valley and its lake. Bordered by a small stream and established mixed hedges, this garden is carpeted with primroses, spring bulbs and hellebores.
There are plenty of seating areas to get pleasure from the views, while taking tea with homemade cakes and listening to the inspiring music of the Congresbury Brass Band. Be sure not to miss the wildlife area and pond in the corner of the car park field. Dogs on short leads are welcome, plants will be on sale, and there is plenty of parking for coaches. There is limited wheelchair access due to the hillside setting.
