RESIDENTS at Kingfisher Lodge care home in Saltford celebrated the life and music of the legendary Elvis Presley with their very own Graceland-inspired party.

To mark the anniversary of Elvis Presley’s passing on August 16, residents came together at the Barchester care home for an afternoon packed with music, laughter and plenty of Elvis magic.

With inflatable guitars, microphones and Elvis masks at the ready, everyone was prepared to let their inner rock and roll star shine.

But the biggest surprise of the day was the arrival of Elvis himself.

The fabulous Andy Treble, in his Elvis tribute act, had residents up and dancing, singing along and thoroughly entertained. Andy was at his absolute best, engaging with residents throughout the event and bringing the energy, charisma and unmistakable presence of the King of Rock and Roll.

The American theme continued with a classic feast of hot dogs and chips, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a taste of the USA while soaking up the atmosphere.

Activity coordinator Kelly said: “I haven’t seen one person today not smiling or singing along. Our residents all love Elvis and we often use his music for various activities throughout our home.

“It’s so important to have these whole home social gatherings to promote inclusion and create a real sense of togetherness and belonging.
