The community of Peasedown St John said goodbye to one of its most popular and well-respected members last week.
Damian Knollys, who has served as the Headteacher at the village
primary school for six years, is stepping down from the role.
During his tenure he helped to grow and develop the school community. His leadership ensured the school remained very much at the heart of village life.
Last week, the Bath & North East Somerset Councillors for Peasedown St John, Karen Walker and Sarah Bevan (Independents) thanked Damian for his service and years of dedication with a gift presentation.
They said: “We would like to thank Damian for his many years of hard work, dedication and commitment to the school and the wider village.
“Lots of children and their families have told us just how much they have valued and appreciated Mr Knollys leadership, empathy and support over the years.
“He will be sorely missed. We wish him well for the future.”
Damian was awarded the honour of raising the flag at the Peasedown Party in the Park Festival Opening Ceremony in 2019, in recognition for the huge role he has played in the life of the village.
