The Friends of St. Chad’s & Chilcompton Surgeries have organised another of their popular Health Talks. On 4th October, Mr James Berstock, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, will be talking about joint replacement surgery.
Joint replacement surgery is the most successful operation in modern medicine for improving a patient’s quality of life. Living with constant joint pains can be distressing, disabling, and depressing. Immobility can have a negative impact on close family members too. Hips and knees are commonly affected by arthritis and are therefore the most commonly replaced joints. Mr Berstock will explain the process, when to seek help and what to expect, as well as updating you about modern implants, how long they should last, and the latest advances such as robotic assisted hip and knee replacement surgery.
If you or a family member are affected by joint problems such as these, you should find this talk very helpful.
The talk is on Tuesday, 4th October 2022 at 6 p.m. at Methodist Church Hall, Midsomer Norton.
This talk is free and is open to local residents, first come first served.
