Twelve years ago, a little engine called Joyce arrived at Midsomer Norton Station in a bit of a state. Now, many working hours and years later, she is smartened up and ready to go!
On Sunday, 13th November, Joyce will be back at work, hauling the trains. This will be the first time the Sentinel Steam locomotive has been rostered for passenger trains after her official naming ceremony by Paul Atterbury earlier in the year.
In December, she will be pulling the Santa Specials on December 11th and 12th and giving rides for the Mince Pie specials on December 17th and 18th. Santa’s Grotto will be on board one of the restored coaches, and a Santa ticket will include a train ride for children. Tickets for children visiting Santa can be obtained from the station. Santa will be there from 10.30 a.m. until 3.30 p.m. No booking is required for the Mince Pie Specials on the 17th and 18th December. There will also be a Christmas Treasure Hunt.
