Ten-year-old Serendipity, who attends Westfield Primary School, recently had ten inches of her hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss, and also funds research into childhood cancer.
Serendipity’s mother, Anna Rumminig-Pain, said: “Serendipity really wanted to donate her hair to The Little Princess Trust, and has pestered me for several months to allow her to do so!
“She has opened a justgiving page, as she really wants to raise enough money to have a wig made, which costs £550, but is given to the child for free. It can take between eight to ten donations of hair to make a single wig.
“Serendipity has even been selling ice lollies during her school breaktime to add to the funds.”
Serendipity had her locks shortened at local hair salon, Celia’s Place, in Midsomer Norton.
