Founded in 1962 by a group of ladies who were members of the Methodist Church at the top of Redfield Road (now flats), they became known as Redfield Road Young Wives Group and meetings were held in the Sunday School room.

With the demise of the Chapel, new premises had to be found and we were fortunate enough to be offered the Masonic Hall in Redfield Road.

As age caught up with us, it was decided to drop the word ‘Young’ and for many years we have just been known as Redfield Road Wives Group.

We meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 8 pm. We have speakers on various topics, musical entertainment, beetle drives, fish and chip suppers and an annual theatre visit.

Since Covid-19 and an absence of meetings for eighteen months, we reconvened in September 2021. Our numbers have fallen, but we are hopeful that as we learn to live with Covid-19, we will see our numbers increase with returning members, but we also look forward to welcoming new members. So do come along and give us a try.
