Congratulations to Lynn and Terry Madden, who will celebrate their

60th (Diamond) Wedding Anniversary on 17th February 2022.

Lynn, daughter of Kay and Edgar James of High Littleton, and Terry, son of May and Terry Madden of Hallatrow, were married at the Norton Radstock

Register Office on 17th

February 1962.

Originally working as a lorry driver, Terry saw many years of service within the Army, deploying on UN Peacekeeping

missions to Cyprus and also deploying to Northern Ireland during a career which saw him and his family living in Germany for many years. Lynn, originally a shop assistant, followed the flag and raised a family throughout those years, but also became a highly accomplished seamstress and knitter, producing highly sophisticated pieces for designer brands.

Returning from Germany on early retirement from the Military, they moved back to the area of the original family home and settled in Paulton, where they have been to this day. Terry worked as a haulage driver for many years before fully retiring, and Lynn continued with her knitting and sewing alongside other jobs to keep the family going. Taking on some allotments in neighbouring Farmborough, they have developed a passion for growing and showing, both in local events and in the Bath and West Show with great success, and they continue these green fingered passions in support of the local village of Paulton, where Lynn is part of the Parish Council and an active member of ‘Pride in Paulton’, ensuring that whatever the event, the village looks its best.

Raising five children – two boys and three girls, they now count nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren (fourth to arrive soon), as part of their extended family, with whom they will share this precious anniversary.
