A brand new pre-school initiative is starting in Peasedown St John, providing more for parents to do with their young children during the week.

St John’s Church, who have been running children’s activities, clubs and initiatives for over ten years in the local community, have launched SJ’s Little Ones.

The four-days a week programme is an expansion of the already popular SJ’s Toy Library, which has proven to be a big hit with parents and children since its launch in 2014.

Revd Matthew Street, Vicar at St John’s Church, said: “With our ever-growing desire to serve the community in which we live and worship, we’re launching this brand new pre-school group for parents to bring their children.

“There will be plenty of opportunities to play, ride on new toys, take part in crafts, and listen to story-telling. Wherever you live in Peasedown St John, and beyond, we have something for you!”

SJ’s Little Ones will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at St John’s Church, Church Road, from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. on each day. £1 is the suggested donation towards each session, with coffee and cake available.

During each play session, the SJ’s Toy Library will also be open for toy hire. Thanks to a recent grant of £500 from the Peasedown Party in the Park Grant Fund, a huge selection of new toys have been purchased.

Party in the Park Chairman, Nathan Hartley, said: “Party in the Park’s grant to the SJ’s Toy Library is part of over £2,500 we have given away to community projects this year; much of which has gone to support initiatives that work with children and young people.

“We are extremely pleased that £500 from the 2017 Grant Fund has purchased new toys for children in our village to use.”
