THE Trio Paradis play a Café Concert on the last Friday of each month at 1pm at St John's Church Hall in Keynsham.
The trio will also play a Café Concert on the first Friday of each month (February to June) at 12.30pm at St John's Church in Midsomer Norton.
These concerts are 45-minutes of mainly classical music, introduced by the performers, with a pop-up café open from 12.15pm where people can meet friends over tea/coffee and reasonably-priced home-made cakes. Entrance is by donation to keep live music affordable for everyone.
The trio - Jacquelyn Bevan on piano, Ruth O’Shea with violin and Linda Stocks on cello - will play their first concerts of 2026 in Keynsham on January 30 and on February 6 at Midsomer Norton.
The concert ‘Roots’, is a varied collection of music by composers of African origin, from Joseph Bologne Chevalier de Saint-George, a contemporary of Mozart, to nineteenth-century English composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and several twentieth century North American composers.
In Keynsham, on February 27 the concert will be ‘Daughters of the Muse’, and on March 27, ‘Spring Waters’. April 24 will be music with Folk Connections and for May 29 it will be a programme of Spanish and Portuguese music, Iberia.
There’s no need to book, though an RSVP via www.trioparadis.com is appreciated. Turn up early to be sure of a table, though, as these concerts are very popular.
For Midsomer Norton, on March 6 the concert will be ‘Daughters of the Muse’, and on April 10 (note the change of date to avoid Good Friday), ‘Spring Waters’. On Friday, May 1, the theme will be music with Folk Connections and for June 5 the trio will play a programme of Spanish and Portuguese music, Iberia.
There’s also no need to book but RSVO via the website is appreciated.
