Well done to Somervale School pupil, Laura Carroll, who recently raised £100 for Paulton Hospital by taking part in a sponsored swim.
Laura presented a cheque for the amount raised to Terry Wynne, who, along with his wife, Caroline Wynne MBE, runs the Paulton Hospital League of Friends Charity Shop in the village.
Laura swam 155 lengths, the equivalent of Chew Valley Lake, to raise the money. Her mother said: "Laura pushed herself to achieve more than I thought she could, we are all so proud of her. Her dad and I are so pleased that she arranged this all by herself and showed great community spirit."
The Paulton Hospital League of Friends Charity Shop has more good news to share. The National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme, from the Statutory Food Law Code of Practice, has given the tea room inside the shop a five- star rating, the highest it could receive. Mr and Mrs Wynne would like to welcome anyone that would like to come in for a cup of tea and help raise money for the hospital. Do join them!
