Following on from their successful Fun Days raising money for the Wallace and Gromit Appeal at Bristol Children’s Hospital, a family from Temple Cloud are continuing their fundraising effort with a sponsored walk this Saturday, 20th May.
The family and a group of friends will be meeting at 9 a.m. at the Hunter’s Rest to do a ten-mile walk in fancy dress through the local villages, passing through Hallatrow, High Littleton, Paulton, Tesco and on to Farrington Gurney before heading back to the Hunter’s Rest to celebrate.
Tasha Dix said: “We have all been collecting sponsor money for the last couple of weeks; there has also been a justgiving page set up which can be found on our Facebook page, Temple Cloud Charity Fun Day.
“The walk is to kick start our fundraising this year, as on 22nd July, we will once again be holding a Charity Fun Day at Temple Cloud Village Hall and football field. Last year this was a fantastic day, raising over £4,000.
“We are raising the money for the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal, supporting Bristol Children’s Hospital, as a thank you for saving my nephew, Morgan’s life back in 2011 when he was diagnosed with meningitis.
“After being told he would not make it through the night, he was transferred to Bristol, where they managed to save him. He is now a healthy seven-year-old, and we will never forget what they did for us.
“No matter how much money we raise, it will never be enough to say thank you, but the money we do raise will help to save other children’s lives, so please, if you do pass us on Saturday, we will have our collection bucket and if you can manage a bit of spare change, that will be fantastic – we even have Wallace and Gromit joining us, so please do look out for them!”
