Tabor Independent Methodist Church

THE recent Christmas music service, led by Mrs Margaret West, featured The Singing Guitars. The group performed several pieces, including ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas’, ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and ‘Do You Hear What I Hear’. They also led the congregation in a selection of well-known Christmas songs and carols.

In her short address, Mrs West spoke about the tradition of giving presents at Christmas, referring to Jesus as a gift. She highlighted that everyone has different talents, which can be used to touch the lives of others, including through efforts to address homelessness, poverty and loneliness, and to promote peace in war-torn lands. The Singing Guitars shared their talents during the service, and £50 was donated to their chosen charity.

Mrs West will also lead a short Christmas Day service at 10am.

All are welcome at any of the church’s services or events. Further details are available on the noticeboard outside the church on North Road, Timsbury.

St Nicholas Church

ST Nicholas Church held a nativity festival last week and thanks were expressed to the local businesses who generously donated raffle prizes, the local schools and organisations which worked with their youngsters to produce the most amazing and innovative nativity scenes and the members of the community who exhibited their own personal nativities.

The event was a resounding success and people worked tirelessly to ensure that a good time was had by all who visited and the team are grateful to everyone who came to support the event. God bless.
