Visitors to Mendip Storytelling Circle this winter have included people from Chester in the north, to Dorset in the South, as the story events grow in popularity.
Ten minute stories, told from memory in the traditional way, amuse, educate and sometimes inspire future interest and research for all age groups, says Colin Emmett, one of the organisers.
Stories can come from anywhere, from Constantinople to Cornwall, covering
journeys, memories and adventures as diverse as jousting to Jack Frost, castles to frozen lakes, wildlife to vampires.
Encouraged by their visitors, Mendip Story Circle are putting on a Story
Supper on Friday, 3rd February in support of the National Storytelling Week. This event will be a mixture of hot food, live music and stories told by four well-known local storytellers.
Advance booking required by text or call Colin on: 07510 699046 or see Mendip Story on Facebook.
The story group are also planning to visit other organisations in the Mendip area to educate and amuse. You are welcome to get in touch.
