The days are beginning to get longer and the local Community Minibus continues to be available for Group use. Time to think about organising visits to local venues, garden centres, or even the seaside at Weston-super-Mare!
The vehicle is a twelve-seater adapted Peugeot with a rear disabled lift that can be hired with our volunteer driver to bring your members to their groups, luncheon clubs, community and church events, etc., and take them home again.
This voluntary service is operated by the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Community Service Vehicle Trust, which was first founded by local public appeal in 1967 (now fifty years old!) and is a registered charity. Last year, almost twenty groups used this for their regular activities and a rate per mile is charged.
If your group would like to hire the minibus, subject to availability and driver, please contact Debbie Gunfield (Co-ordinator) on: 01761 416910. Also, following recent retirements, the Trust is in urgent need of more volunteer drivers, especially for occasional trips. If any Journal readers, especially those with experience of driving minibuses or heavy vehicles, would be willing to help, please contact Nick Rogers (Vehicle Manager) on: 01761 413872 or David Shearn (Secretary/Treasurer) on: 01761 413473 for details of what would be involved. Thank you in anticipation!
