A TATTOO studio in Radstock has raised money for cats in need ahead of this year’s annual increase in kitten numbers.
Iris Ink Studios in Radstock raised £548 thanks to a flash day during which 11 people received specially designed cat-themed tattoos while others opted for piercings.
Half of the proceeds from the event were donated to Cats Protection Midsomer Norton and Radstock to help support cat carers.
Laser specialist for LT Aesthetics at Iris Ink Studios,Madeleine, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have hosted our charity day in support of Cats Protection.
“It was a day filled with generosity and community spirit, together we raised over £500. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped with making the day such a success.”
The funds raised will cover the cost of neutering eight cats in care and feed 10 cats for 25 days, changing the lives of the neutered cats for the better.

Cats Protection community fundraising officer, Laura Taylor, added: “Iris Ink Studios is part of our pilot for Tats For Cats which we have been trialling this summer across the South West.
“So far, we have raised over £6000 through flash days and tattoo events, a truly remarkable total which will provide care for unwanted litters as well as neutering for cats over four-months-old to stop the cycle of constant pregnancies and risky births.”
One such cat who will benefit from the funds is two-year-old Mila at Cats Protection Midsomer Norton and Radstock. Torbie Mila was found with her four kittens Daisy, Rose, Monty and Dom in a garden shed when they were just a few weeks old.
Having received plenty of care, the kittens have now all been adopted and Mila will be ready for adoption via www.cats.org.uk/midsomer but the outcome could have been very different, the charity warns.
