B&NES Council introduce temporary suspension of 7.5 tonne vehicles to Stowey Road, Clutton.

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

·  A road closure in that length of Stowey Road, Clutton from a point outside Tynemore Farmhouse extending west for approximately 1050 metres. USRN: 47902190 / USRN: 47917839.

· A temporary suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on The Street, Stowey to permit vehicles to travel along the length of road as part of the diversion route.

 

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Openreach to carry out pole recovery on grass verge on the 17th January 2024 for a maximum period of 2 days. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for ONE DAY between 09:30 – 15:30hrs. Highway to be clear at all other times.

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The Street – A368 – A37 – Stowey Road – Vice Versa.
