On Sunday 11th April, Mayor Lynda Robertson laid a wreath at The Hollies for HRH the Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, on behalf of the Town Council and the residents of Midsomer Norton. Sadly, on Thursday 15th April, the wreath was discovered to have been vandalised. The stand had been broken and the wreath pulled apart. Town Councillors, staff and the florist were obviously upset.
The Town Warden removed the wreath and the Town Council contacted the florist who took it away overnight to repair it. It has now been returned to the High Street and is at the War Memorial.
The flag at the War Memorial was flying at half-mast until 08:00hrs on the morning following the funeral of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
It is kindly asked that all those choosing to pay their respects bear in mind the current Government restrictions and guidelines in light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
