Midsomer Norton’s Adventure Play park at Gullock Tyning is undergoing some work to repair and refresh facilities, with new pieces of equipment being installed for toddlers.

General Manager, Paul Cracknell, told The Journal: “We are a not for profit charitable trust and re-invest all surplus into the local facilities operated by Writhlington Leisure.

“We are pleased to be able to afford to make some costly improvements to the existing park that we took over in 2015.

“The park itself doesn’t generate us a penny, so the upkeep of this is as a community asset that we hope offers somewhere for children to play safely.

“We are making some major repairs to the main walkway through the grounds, repairs to existing play pieces, such as the swings, the rear zip wire and to the tee-pee climbing structure at the rear of Midsomer Norton Leisure Centre.

“We are also adding some new, toddler-friendly pieces of equipment to offer a little more to do in the park for families of the local community. We hope to have the work completed on Friday, all being well.”

The project has cost around £12,000, with £4,000 of this coming from the Tesco Bags for Help initiative.
