It has been a challenging year for all charities, with restrictions meaning that ways to raise much-needed money have been very limited.
Peasedown St John Primary School PSA needed to think of a way to raise money, but also to make sure that everyone was safe; the community could come together and we could raise as much money for our school as possible. So, we decided to organise a Village Pumpkin Trail.
Seventy-seven homes took part, over two hundred maps were sold, and six hundred raffle tickets. The community really rallied together and the local businesses, including Tesco, Speedy’s Takeaway and Grill and The Wagon and Horses contributed to the raffle prizes and the prizes for the best displays.
In total, we raised just over £1200, and the feedback from the village has been incredibly positive. Community spirit was thriving!
The winners of the best display prizes were: First place: Spooky Sidecar (The couple who did this display were part of their display and sat in the garage dressed up for the whole trail!), Second place: ‘Erin’s Eerie Fright Fest’.
Sincere thanks to Katie and the PSA team for organising this “Spooktacular” event!
