Young people in Chilcompton have won an award for their dedication and persistence while working on the Chilcompton Village Plan.
A group of seven have worked with the Somerset Rural Youth Project for about a year, devising a youth questionnaire to survey their peers, aged eleven to nineteen.
They won the award because of their dedicated and hard work to make sure the young people in Chilcompton were listened to by the Village Plan Committee.
They worked in the evenings and weekends to get as many responses as possible and a report is being written, detailing what young people would like in Chilcompton in the future.
Several of the group attended a Ball at Taunton Cricket Club at the end of November to receive the award.
The Village Plan Committee congratulated them on winning the award and thanked them for their input into the village plan.
