Dunkerton WI met as usual at Tunley Recreation Centre on Tuesday 8th November.

The meeting started with Jerusalem. The minutes were signed followed by a review of their harvest meeting in October.

A questionnaire was handed out for members to put forward their ideas and preferences for a new craft group. Arrangements for the Christmas meal at the King William pub and for those attending the Federation Carol Service in Bath on 6th December were discussed.

The final result of competitions held throughout the year was announced and Viv, the overall winner, was presented with a garden voucher in lieu of the cut glass trophy which we are trying to locate.

The monthly cake makers were thanked for their efforts, after which the monthly business was closed and the annual AGM began. Minutes of the 2021 AGM were signed and then the treasurer presented the accounts. Frances presented the annual report, which showed a busy year with many activities highlighted.

The president, Jan, thanked the committee for all their hard work as well as the members who had supported the group over the past year. Both she and Elisabeth retired from the committee and two new members were elected. Veronica was welcomed with applause as the new president of Dunkerton WI.

Jan and Elisabeth were thanked and presented with gifts to mark their service to the group. Jan was given a book to remember her time with Dunkerton WI as she moves away from the area. They also sadly said goodbye to Jill, who is moving to Wells. Following the AGM was tea, coffee and cakes and a lighthearted game of bingo.

The Christmas meeting is on Tuesday 13th December when we will be making Christmas wreaths.
