Roll up roll up for Westfield’s sixth annual Fun Day at Westhill Recreation Ground on Sunday, 4th June!
Having been blessed with glorious weather most years, the Fun Day committee has its fingers crossed for another glorious Sunday afternoon to complement the exciting
displays, rides and stalls that are planned for this year’s event. Well-known local butcher, Brian Mitchard, will open the afternoon at 12 noon, followed by the welcome return of Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band in the show ring, as well as old favourites, such as the Bathampton Morris Men, Sue Hill School of Dance and taekwondo and street dance displays.
This year, at 3.30 p.m., the show ring will host the first annual Westfield Scruffs show! Bring along your prize pooch to enter classes such as Best Trick, Waggiest Tail, Young Handler and more (see the schedule for all classes). All resident and non-resident dogs are welcome to enter with their owners in tow, register for free on the day and judging will be by local dog-lover and proprietor of Pride and Groom, Francis Morgan.
Meanwhile, throughout the afternoon, visitors can enjoy donkey rides, a visit from the Police van and Fire engine (emergencies permitting), craft and cake stalls, side shows, bouncy castles, vintage scooters and cars, the plant stall, skittles and, of course, the ever-popular bottle tombola. There is also a rumour that acclaimed Facebook celebrity, Boris the Pig, will attend the event.
