Local Councillors, Chris Dando and Lesley Mansell, are raising concerns with Linden Homes about the condition of Nelson Ward Drive on Radstock’s new estate after residents highlighted the length of time it has taken to complete. They both feel it is now time for action.
Cllr Mansell said: “Residents are telling us they feel abandoned by Linden Homes, as some moved in three years ago; yet they are still waiting for the road to be properly surfaced, the lights to work, and the extra car parking area to be sorted out. I find it astonishing it has taken so long.”
Work has almost been completed on the Brunel Shed, which looks very smart, with new stone facings and bat roosts in the roof, but this still needs proper windows and doors.
“Areas of the site still look like Steptoe’s yard, months after construction concluded,” added Cllr Dando. Whilst we understand why the promised bridge to the school has still not been built, this is crucial to ensure a safe route for children and should be completed quickly.”
The Councillors understand that various promises have been made but residents feel let down, as nothing has resulted from this. They will be in contact once they have any update from the company.
