World Book Day returned last Thursday to local schools, with children dressing as their favourite characters to take part in a fun-filled, worldwide celebration of books and reading. This year, World Book Day aims to start a reading revolution and share a million stories, offering tokens so that every child and young person can choose a book of their own. Children went to school very much in character, others chose a word to represent, and some arrived in their pyjamas, taking their favourite book to school.
