FOLLOWING her passing on January 7, 2026, Pamela Doris Humphries is reunited with her late husband Harry Humphries, who passed 50 years ago.
Pam’s dedication and passion for teaching at Bishop Henderson C of E V C Primary School in Coleford for almost 40 years, meant she has inspired and contributed to the lives of multiple generations of students, at times even teaching the grandchildren of students from years previous. After retiring, Pam took on a role as school governor.
Pam’s most defining role was that of a loving mother to Jackie, mother-in-law to David Rowell, and grandmother to her cherished Harry and Isla.
Pam, originally from Barnstaple in Devon, always carried a special place in her heart for her beloved Devon, often returning on holidays and weekends away to Westward Ho! and other seaside towns. She would often enjoy a Hocking ice-cream with clotted cream, and always made her scone with the clotted cream first then the jam.
Pam will always be thought of highly in the local area of Holcombe, Radstock, by all who knew her.
Pam made it clear in her funeral plan she did not want to have a funeral, and she will join her late husband Harry at St George’s Church, Beckington, at a private family committal in the spring.
In lieu of a funeral, Jackie and David would welcome donations be made to Pam's favourite local charity ‘Time is Precious’. The charity aims to create a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for children and their families in hospital or at home, and alongside specialists to purchase equipment and refurbish areas to support children whose illness or disability means long hospital stays for treatment.
Visit Pam's online tribute page to donate, pamelahumphries.muchloved.com, where people can also leave messages and share memories of Pam.
