The Annual Presentation of the Radstock and District Pool League took place recently, which was once again held at Westhill Club.

The Committee would like to express their thanks to the Club for accommodating the evening, and for allowing the League to use the venue for monthly meetings during the season.

They would also like to thank John Newport for being photographer for the evening, Sheila Bull who, once again, provided the buffet, and the FB Roadshow disco who provided the entertainment.

In a reversal of last year, the Division One title was won by Ston Easton, with Westhill Club B having to settle for the runners-up spot, having won it for the previous six years.

In the Second Division, two new teams took the top two places – Mardons, who were comfortable winners, and Dolphinators, who finished as runners-up. In a further reversal of fortunes, Ston Easton achieved the double by winning the Team Knockout Cup Final with victory over their closest rivals in Division One, Westhill Club B, (who had completed this feat in the previous four seasons).

The Team Knockout Plate was retained by Paulton Rovers A, with victory over The King’s Arms. The Singles competition was won by Paul Quick (Ston Easton), for the second year in succession, beating runner-up, Steve Woodham, (Westhill Club B). Ston Easton players, Shaun Westcott and Adam Day, took the Pairs competition title with victory over runners-up, Adam Parfitt and Josh Button from Purnells.

The Over-50s competition saw two founding players of the League competing in the Final, with Roger Franklin coming out on top against Derek Baber. The Under-18s competition was a repeat of the previous season Final, and the result was the same – Josh Singtothong beating Riley Whittock.

Tilley Edwards from The Lamb won the Ladies’ competition for the third year running, with victory over her team mate, Hayley Desmond. Captain’s Cup winner, Kev Doe, was also named as Division Two and overall Player of the Year, just ahead of Division One Player of the Year, Paul Quick. Runner-up in the Captain’s Cup was Tony Howells.
