Welton made it 21 games unbeaten in the Toolstation First Division with a difficult game at Roman Glass, but in the final analysis, the commitment and dedication to the cause from the players gained yet another three valuable points in their promotion push.

The game got underway with a strong wind blowing across the pitch that benefitted the home side in the first half. Good work down the right flank by Joe Garland saw him set up Welton's first chance of the game that was eventually cleared by the Glass defence. The home side responded with a long-range shot from Sam Roberts that went well wide of the Welton goal. Then, good work in midfield by Tom Pawley saw him turn his marker and set up Anthony Conradi, but his volley was cleared for a corner.

Roman Glass then were awarded a free kick on the right. It was delivered onto the edge of the Welton box, where it was met by Jordan Williams, whose first time lobbed shot was turned over the bar by Andy King in the Welton goal. Welton responded and a great ball from Pawley found Conradi in space on the right and his effort flew into the side netting. It was fair to say that this wasn't the best 45 minutes Welton had participated in this season.

The second half started with Tom Smith making a good block to deny Drew Hamilton-Dunns' effort on goal. Minutes later, Roman Glass took the lead when an attack down the left wasn't properly dealt with by the Welton defence and the ball fell to Luke Lipinski, who was unmarked on the edge of the area and he fired in a low shot that flew past King's outstretched arm and into the Welton net.

Welton responded and a long range effort from Smith was grabbed by the wind and Roman Glass keeper, George Dempsey, did well to push the ball onto the crossbar to deny Welton an equaliser.

Welton Manager, Nick Beaverstock, then brought on new signing, midfielder, Jack Winter, replacing Smith, with Steve Bridges dropped back to left back. In the sixtieth minute, Welton equalised when Conradi was found by a throw-in on the right, he dinked his pass to Dan Cottle, who in turn found Bridges on a charge down the left and the Welton stalwart made no mistake as he thumped the ball straight into the Roman Glass net.

With fifteen minutes left, Welton took the lead when a corner on the left from Tom Pawley was launched into the area, a gust of wind took the ball, which saw it fly into the net assisted by the despairing Dempsey, who had managed to get a hand to it. This was the spur Welton needed to sort the game out and within minutes, Welton got their third goal. A deep free kick from the left by Steve Bridges was met by Conradi and he neatly side-footed the ball to Mark Reynolds, who was in space in the mix and he fired in from close range to win the match for Welton.
