Anybody watching the game last Saturday would have been treated to a pre-season friendly which was played at a high tempo by both sides.

Swindon Supermarine missed a great opportunity when Mark Francis headed wide with the goal at his mercy.

Paulton hit back with a snapshot from Kyle Tooze and shortly afterwards, Rovers were awarded a penalty when Tooze was fouled. However, Captain, Darren Mullings, saw his effort well-saved by former North Leigh keeper, Matt Bulman.

On 59 minutes, Paulton took the lead. Tooze was fouled and from 25 yards, Aaron Brown hit a superb free kick around the wall and into the bottom corner.

Numerous substitutions affected the flow of the game, as both Managers were given a chance to try out their squads.

Marine levelled with what appeared to be a harsh handball decision against youngster, James Byrne, and Luke Hooper beat Conor Thompson in the visitors' goal.

Twice the lively Ryan Stanners hit curling shots, with one cracking the crossbar with Thompson beaten.

With the final kick of the match, Hooper found Stanners, who looked odds-on to score, but Shane Anson blocked for Rovers.

Last Saturday's 'Big Gig' held at the club was a great success, with over 500 people enjoying nine great bands. A substantial amount was raised for eleven-year-old Henry Ford. His dad, Simon, was Paulton Rovers' centre forward in the mid-90s.

Paulton play at Brislington this Saturday, 18th July, kick-off at 3 p.m., then next Monday, 20th July, Richard Fey's side welcome Bristol Rovers to Winterfield Road, kick-off at 7.30 p.m.
