Well you can tell the bowling season is coming to an end. Not very much to report, well not until the club finals, the Janet Norman triples and the Flood Light triples.

The Ladies played their last Mendip League game on Tuesday, and finished by winning on two rinks and losing on one, but winning overall, taking 8 of the 10 points. We have finished runners-up in this league to winners Congresbury, so well done Ladies. The AGM is on Tuesday, 10th October at Congresbury, so any proposals for next year can be given to Della.

The men’s friendly against Wells was played on Wednesday evening. The weather kept nice for them, even though it went off cold before the end. The sausage and chips were very welcomed after the game. The final score was Fosseway 72 and Wells 81.

Well that’s all the bowls for this week. Next week starts with The Janet Norman Triples Competition. This year it will be on a knock-out format. Teams are on the notice board, with a 6.15 p.m. start on Tuesday.

A few dates for your diaries: Bob is hoping to organise a “gang” to cut the hedges around the club on Saturday, 23rd September at 10.00 a.m. If you are able to help, please contact Bob.

The MacMillan coffee morning is being held on 30th September, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. All monies raised will be added to the monies from the Spring Plant Sale, and then donated to the Charity. Please support Sue in this event.

Good luck to all the members who have qualified for the Finals weekend on Saturday, 16th and Sunday, 17th September.

A.M.
