Prattens Men continued their excellent start to the season in the Somerset County League by beating Norwest on two-out-of-three rinks and overall by 61 shots to 57, which gained them ten League points out of twelve. The highest winning rink was Malcolm Moon’s.

Prattens Ladies played a friendly against Alexandra Park (Bath); they won on two-out-of-three rinks but lost overall by 55 shots to 69. In the first round of the Southey Trophy, against Fosseway, Prattens Ladies lost all four disciplines.

In the Somerset Ladies County Pairs, Pauline Dando and Chris Love won their second round game against Chew Stoke by 22 shots to seventeen.

There was a Mixed Mid-Somerset League game at Home to Castle Cary; Prattens won on two rinks, lost on one and lost overall by three shots, which gained Prattens four League points.

Prattens welcomed a Touring Team from Burnham-on-Sea this week. In a five-rink game, Prattens lost overall by 84 shots to 79, and after the game the visitors enjoyed a meal in the Clubhouse.

Prattens also played the first round of the Tony Allcock Trophy at Home to Frome Park, where Prattens won on one rink by four shots and lost on the other by one shot, therefore winning overall by three shots.

In the coming week, Prattens Men have a Mid-Somerset League game away to Frome Selwood and a Somerset County League game away to Wells. Prattens Ladies have a Wild League game away to Frome Park, and there is also a Mixed Mid-Somerset League game away to Wyrral Park (Glastonbury) and a mixed friendly game away to Ashcombe Park (Weston-super-Mare).
