Pauline Dando and Chris Love won the Somerset County Ladies Pairs Competition by beating Ailsa Midwinter and Jan Dart of Purnell eighteen shots to eight.
This is their second win of the title in three years, a fantastic achievement! Congratulations to both ladies.
Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s Club Competitions, and our thanks go to Graham Whittock, our Competitions Secretary, for organising the games. Pauline Dando and Gus Halfhide were winners of the Singles competitons in the Ladies’ and Men’s categories, respectively.
Prattens’ Ladies played Keynsham in a friendly this week, but unfortunately lost on all three rinks, despite a great come back by Liz Durnford, Val Duery, Shirley Garside and Sue Price, who lost on their rink by just one shot.
In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies have a friendly at home to Isle of Wedmore and a re-arranged Wild League game at home to Wells. The week concludes with Captain’s Day, and the theme this year is nursery rhymes. Although it is not compulsory to dress up, it is a fun afternoon and a good way to end the season, which concludes with tea in the clubhouse hosted by this year’s Captains.
