This last week has seen a busy time on the green for Paulton Bowls Club with Club, County League and friendly matches undertaken.

The Golden Oldies first round was played at home on Wednesday 17th against Purnells. All members of both teams played with the spirit and enthusiasm that this competition deserves and engenders, however the opposition triumphed in the end.

The Ladies played at home against Frome Selwood on Thursday 18th with the home team losing narrowly, whilst on Saturday 21st the men played away, in the County League, against Keynsham where we won on two of the rinks and lost by a narrow margin on the other.

On Sunday a mixed team travelled to Bradford on Avon for a friendly where the weather, surroundings and players made for a great afternoon of bowls and Paulton would like to extend our thanks to Bradford on Avon for their reception and hospitality.

Monday afternoon Lesley Beard and Annabelle Curtis played in the County Ladies Pairs competition at home winning by by two shots in a very close and hard fought game and both ladies are looking forward to the next round.

Wednesday in the MSL away against Purnells B team on a good running green we were successful on two rinks and obtained a good overall win.
