With the continuing wet weather causing most golf courses to remain closed for an unprecedented number of days over the past two weeks, results are rather thin on the ground.

It is no consolation to Mendip’s members but the closures have been widespread throughout the country. A recent National Greenkeepers article that has been sent out to clubs highlights the increasing problem year on year painting a concerning picture going forward unless recent trends reverse.

At Mendip, whilst the course remains so wet, we are just so much better off than the majority of other clubs when it comes  to recovery times. Just a couple of days without rain and we are back playing - it’s just waiting for those dry days to come!
